Local medical sources told the media that an Israeli attack on a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the center Gaza Strip resulted in at least 17 Palestinian deaths and over 34 injuries.
According to the Xinhua news agency, the sources stated on Wednesday that women and children are among the victims, and that rescue operations are still in progress.
According to the sources, all of the recovered victims were sent to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city of Deir el-Balah.
Witnesses said to the Xinhua news agency that many missiles fired by an Israeli warplane struck the home providing refuge to multiple displaced families.
The building was destroyed by the enormous explosion, which also seriously damaged nearby homes in the camp’s western area.
The number of Palestinian fatalities resulting from Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 29,313, with 69,333 others wounded, as the Israel-Hamas conflict continues, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said in a press statement on Wednesday.
