He recalled a lack of cooperation from the central government at the time, with ministers avoiding participation and foreign investors facing veiled threats against investing in the state. Despite these hurdles, investors flocked to Gujarat, drawn solely by the pillars of good governance, equitable growth, and transparent administration.
PM Modi lamented that central ministers had promised attendance but often reneged, attributing it to covert resistance. He underscored the summit’s broader scope, emphasizing that all states were invited, showcasing Gujarat’s development through a national lens. The Prime Minister praised Gujarat’s evolution from a trade-centric state to a multifaceted hub encompassing agriculture, finance, industry, and manufacturing, all while fortifying its commercial prowess.
Vibrant Gujarat, initiated by then-Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2003, has burgeoned into a pivotal event on the global business calendar. The forthcoming 10th edition, themed ‘Gateway to the Future’, is scheduled for January 10-12 in Gandhinagar, promising to build on the legacy of two decades of visionary economic discourse.
