2023 Kia Seltos launched, Prices starts at Rs 10.90 lakh

In India, Kia has released pricing for the Seltos facelift. The tiny SUV is priced from Rs 10.90 lakh to Rs 20.00 lakh (both ex-showroom). In the redesigned Seltos, the Korean automaker has incorporated more features as well as a new turbocharged petrol engine. Bookings for the redesigned Seltos began a week ago for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000.

The 2023 Kia Seltos is available in seven trim levels: HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X-Line. The pre-facelift Seltos was originally introduced in India in August 2019 and has since sold over 7.5 lakh units in India, in addition to 2.5 lakh exports.

2023 Kia Seltos facelift design update

The exterior of the 2023 Kia Seltos receives minor visual upgrades, including restyled headlamp clusters with new LED DRLs and a slightly altered front grille. Seltos’ side profile stays almost unchanged, with the exception of new alloy wheel designs, particularly an upsized 18-inch one for the GT range. The remaining models get 17- and 16-inch alloy wheels.

The facelifted Seltos gets new inverted L-shaped taillights joined by an LED light bar across the tailgate at the back. The rear bumper has been reprofiled to accommodate the reversing lights. The tailgate’s excess chrome has been removed. Furthermore, the latest Seltos derivative gets a new ‘Pewter Olive’ paint scheme.

2023 Kia Seltos facelift interior & features update

Inside, the improvements are more noticeable thanks to a redesigned dashboard with twin 10.25-inch screens housing an infotainment system and a driver’s display. The GT line has an all-black cabin with contrast white inserts on the seats to accentuate its sporty appearance, whilst the Tech line has a dual-tone theme cabin with black and tan brown tones.

A panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, sequential LED turn indicators, an automated parking brake, dual-zone climate control, and a Bose-sourced 8-speaker audio system are among the new Seltos’ features.

Six airbags are standard, as is ABS with EBD, ESC, Hill Assist Control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The most significant addition to the safety package, however,  is ADAS which includes features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot collision warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning assist, high beam assist, etc.

2023 Kia Seltos facelift powertrains

The 2023 Seltos facelift is available with three 1.5-litre engine options: naturally aspirated petrol, turbocharged petrol, and diesel. The naturally aspirated petrol engine is available with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission, while the diesel engine is available with either a 6-speed clutchless manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

A 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 158 horsepower and 253 Nm of peak torque has been added to the range. This engine is mated to either a 6-speed clutchless manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
