Police busted a gang of mobile thieves in the city’s Laxmisagar area on Sunday.
Based on police, three persons hailing from Jharkhand have been arrested and 103 phones have been seized from their possession.
Sources stated the gang members targeted individuals with costly cellphone brands such as iPhone, OnePlus, and so on. They largely operated in crowded public locations and roadsides within the city.
Police had launched an investigation after a city denizen lodged a complaint that his iPhone-12 was stolen.
When police finally zeroed in on the thieves on Sunday to arrest them, they have been in the process of packing the stolen phones so as to sell them.
