According to the Ukrainian Joint Forces Task Force, it has repelled five Russian attacks in Donbas and is still fighting in the separatist eastern region.
In a social media post late Thursday, the Force said: “The occupiers have shelled nearly 30 towns and villages in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and have destroyed or damaged 52 civilian objects, including 42 residential buildings, two factories, administrative premises and equipment of several rescue and fire service stations, and a hangar.”
The Force also stated that five civilians were killed and seven others were injured in the last 24 hours of attacks, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.
Five Russian tanks, three artillery systems, and two armored combat vehicles were destroyed in Donbas by the Joint Forces Task Force.
In addition, three Orlan-10 drones were shot down by Ukrainian Air Defense Forces.
Meanwhile, a Skhid (East) Operational Tactical Group wartillery strike has destroyed a Russian command and observation post.
Ukrainian defense forces killed 32 Russian soldiers and destroyed two tanks, one infantry fighting vehicle, one armored personnel carrier, two artillery systems, one mortar gun, and one drone in the area.
The UK Ministry of Defence stated earlier on Thursday that Russian forces are likely to focus on capturing the entire Donetsk region and forcing a crossing of the Siverskyi Donets River, but they will have to pause, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.
At the same time, the British Ministry of Military Intelligence believes that a pause in the offensive could derail Russia’s plans.
