Union Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today inaugurated 5G services in the cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in Odisha.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the Campus-2 Auditorium of SoA University, Kalinga Nagar.
Jio and Airtel have made the necessary arrangements to provide a 5G network in the areas.
Jio and Airtel have installed over 500 base transceiver stations for this purpose.
Jio has established a 5G experience lab at SoA University.
The 5G service will provide users with lightning-fast internet and a superior network.
The statewide rollout of 5G networks is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. “Today, 4.5 crore Odias are getting the gift of 5G. Inauguration of 5G services is a breakthrough that will usher in infinite possibilities, help realise PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Purvodaya and pave the way for a new era for Odisha,” said Pradhan.
