Share Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights:
The Indian benchmark indices recovered the majority of their early losses to end the volatile session on a flat note, with selling seen in the capital goods, auto, and information technology indices.
The BSE Sensex ended the day down 84.88 points, or 0.15 percent, at 56,975.99, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 33.40 points, or 0.20 percent, to 17,069.10. Apollo Hospitals, Eicher Motors, Titan Company, Bajaj Auto, and Wipro were among the top Nifty losers, while IndusInd Bank, Coal India, Tata Steel, Power Grid Corporation, and HDFC were among the top gainers.
Capital goods, auto, and information technology indices all fell by a percentage point. However, there was some buying in FMCG, metal, power, and real estate names. The BSE midcap index fell 0.47 percent, while the smallcap index fell 0.87 percent. This week will be shortened because the market will be closed on Tuesday for Ramzan Eid.
