Kiev: According to the Ukrinform news agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Kiev will not agree to any deal that would result in a “frozen conflict” with Russia.
“We will not accept a frozen conflict… I am opposed to it. We will not have such a document,” Zelensky was quoted as saying by the Xinhua news agency.
According to Zelensky, the Minsk agreements, which ended the intense military stage of the Donbass conflict several years ago, were ineffective.
Russia violated the Minsk agreements when it attacked Ukraine on February 24, according to Zelensky.
The Minsk agreements, reached in September 2014 and February 2015, outlined the steps required to end the conflict in Ukraine’s eastern region of Donbass, which began in April 2014.
