Kiev: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic in Kiev to discuss defence and energy cooperation, as well as Ukraine’s European integration, according to the Ukrainian presidential press service.
According to Xinhua, Zelensky stated that security issues and steps needed to support Ukraine were key topics of the talks.
He thanked Croatia for assisting Ukraine on its path to EU membership and for imposing sanctions on Russia over the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
In addition, Zelensky urged Croatia to help Ukraine clear landmines planted during the conflict.
Plenkovic, for one, promised that Croatia’s support for Ukraine would continue.
“Croatia has always stood by Ukraine in political, diplomatic, legal, financial, humanitarian, and technical matters.” And we will continue to help,” Plenkovic said.
