Share Market Highlights: Sensex falls 136 pts , Nifty ends below 15,800

Domestic equity benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 fell for the sixth day in a row on Friday, owing to year-end selling.

The BSE Sensex closed 137 points or 0.3% lower at 52,794, while the NSE Nifty closed at 15,782, down 26 points or 0.2%. ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, and Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) were among the top BSE Sensex draggers. Gains in Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), ITC, HUL, Sun Pharmaceuticals, and M&M, on the other hand, limited the index’s losses.
