Domestic equity market benchmarks the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 index finished nearly 2% higher on Monday, tracking global peers.
The BSE Sensex closed 1,041 points or 1.9 percent higher at 55,925, while the NSE Nifty 50 closed at 16,661.
The benchmark indices finished nearly one month high. Titan Company, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Infosys, L&T, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, and Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) were among the stocks that closed in the green on the S&P BSE Sensex.
The only laggards were Kotak Mahindra Bank, Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, and ITC. Nifty Bank finished 0.6% higher.
