Share Market Highlights: Sensex falls 709 pts, Nifty ends around 15,400

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: Bears returned to Dalal Street as benchmark indices ended lower on the back of weak global cues, with the Nifty falling below 15450. Selling was observed across all industries.

The BSE Sensex fell 709.54 points, or 1.35 percent, to 51,822.53, while the Nifty fell 225.50 points, or 1.44 percent, to 15,413.30. All sectoral indices finished in the red, with the metal index down 5%.

The BSE midcap index fell 1.5%, while the smallcap index fell 1%. Among the top Nifty losers were Hindalco Industries, UPL, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, and Wipro. BPCL, Hero MotoCorp, TCS, Maruti Suzuki, and Power Grid Corporation benefited.
