Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik met with David Beasly, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), at the WFP Headquarters in Rome on Friday. The two discussed food security and livelihood improvement in Odisha, disaster preparedness, and lives saved as a result of recurring disasters, according to WFP’s India Director, Bishow Parajuli.
Naveen expressed gratitude to Beasly for WFP’s long partnership with Odisha. “It was an honor to be a part of the historic meeting in Rome between Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the WFP Chief.” “There was an excellent discussion on the long partnership between the Government of India, UNWFP India, and Odisha State in addressing food and nutrition security,” Parajuli said.
