Share Market Highlights: Sensex ends 303 pts higher, Nifty closes at 16220

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: For the third day in a row, Dalal Street benchmark indices closed higher. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 303 points, or 0.56 percent, to 54,481, while the NSE Nifty 50 index rose 87.70 points, or 0.54 percent, to 16,220.

The India VIX fell 4%, losing 19 levels, while the Bank Nifty closed at 35,124. The top Sensex gainer was L&T, which rose 4.56 percent, followed by Power Grid and NTPC. Tata Steel was the worst performer, falling 1.6 percent, followed by Maruti Suzuki and IndusInd Bank. TCS finished 0.61 percent lower ahead of its first-quarter results.
