Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: In a highly volatile session, Indian equity markets erased early losses to end in the green for the fifth consecutive day (weekly F&O expiry), despite a mixed global mood and weak oil prices.
The S&P BSE Sensex closed at 55,682, up 284 points or 0.5%, while the NSE Nifty 50 closed at 16,610, up 89 points or 0.5%. The Nifty PSB index rose 1.56 %, while the Nifty Pharma index fell 0.4 %.
The broader markets outperformed the leading indices, with the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indexes rising by up to 1.3%. The top gainers were IndusInd Bank, L&T, Bajaj Finance, Tata Consumer Products, UPL, L&T, Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints, and Hindalco, while Kotak Bank, Dr Reddy’s Labs, SBI Life, Cipla, and and Reliance Industries fell the most, down up to 2 %.
