Share Market Highlights: Sensex tanks 861 pts, Nifty ends below 17,350

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: Indian benchmark indices finished lower today, with the Nifty falling below 17,350 due to selling in all sectors except FMCG. The BSE Sensex fell 861.25 points, or 1.46%, to 57,972.62, while the Nifty fell 246 points, or 1.40%, to 17,312.90. Among the major Nifty losers were Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies, and TCS, while gainers included Britannia Industries, Maruti Suzuki, Apollo Hospitals, Nestle India, and Asian Paints. Aside from FMCG and Oil & Gas, all other sectoral indices finished in the red, with Bank, Information Technology, Metal, PSU Bank, and Realty all falling 1-3%. The BSE midcap and smallcap indices both fell 0.5%.
