Story of Maa Brahmacharini
According to mythology, Brahmacharini Mata was born as a daughter in the home of mountain king Himalaya. Mother desired Lord Shankar as her husband. On the advice of Narad ji, the mother performed severe penance to fulfill this wish. She was given the name Brahmacharini as a result of her penance.
She lived for 1000 years eating fruits and flowers. In addition, she performed penance by staying on the ground for 100 years. It is said that the gods were pleased after doing penance for several thousand years after being waterless and helpless, and they received the boon of having their wishes granted.

दधाना करपद्माभ्यामक्षमालाकमण्डलु| देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा ||
वन्दे वांछित लाभायचन्द्रार्घकृतशेखराम्।
जपमालाकमण्डलु धराब्रह्मचारिणी शुभाम्॥
गौरवर्णा स्वाधिष्ठानस्थिता द्वितीय दुर्गा त्रिनेत्राम।
धवल परिधाना ब्रह्मरूपा पुष्पालंकार भूषिताम्॥
परम वंदना पल्लवराधरां कांत कपोला पीन।
पयोधराम् कमनीया लावणयं स्मेरमुखी निम्ननाभि नितम्बनीम्॥
या देवी सर्वभेतेषु मां ब्रह्मचारिणी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः।।
दधाना कर मद्माभ्याम अक्षमाला कमण्डलू।
देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा।।
