Dhanteras, also known as Dhantrayodashi, is the first day of the five-day Diwali celebrations, which are primarily observed by the Hindu community in India and around the world.

It should be noted that the actual Lakshmi Puja takes place on the day of ‘amavasya’ two days after Dhantrayodashi — on the day of Diwali — because it is considered more important.
This year, Dhanteras falls on a Saturday, October 22. The puja will take place on that day, according to Drik Panchang. The Dhanteras puja muhurat is from 07.02 pm to 08.18 pm.
Additionally, the Pradosh Kaal is from 05:44 pm to 08:17 pm, and the Vrishabha Kaal is from 07:00 pm to 08:56 pm. The Trayodashi tithi will begin at 06:02 pm on October 22 and end at 06:03 pm on October 23. On 23 October 2022, the auspicious time will be from 5:44 pm to 6.05 pm.
On Dhanteras, people traditionally buy gold and silver items, usually in the form of jewelry, as well as some utensils.
