Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will open the Pushkar fair in Jaipur on Tuesday.
Due to the spread of lumpy skin disease, the popular cattle fair will not be held this year during the eight-day event.
According to an official spokesperson, the chief minister will inaugurate the fair at Pushkar Sarovar by lighting the lamp and participating in Maha Aarti.
The Rajasthan Tourism Department has invited lakhs of tourists from various countries to participate in the ‘Pushkar Chalo Abhiyan.’
Various competitions are held in conjunction with the fair. Traditional and fusion bands will also be performing at the fair. The fair will also feature delicious delicacies and beautiful craftsmanship, according to the spokesperson.
