According to Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday, India has reported an increase of 833 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 4,46,65,643.
The active caseload in the country has dropped to 12,553, accounting for 0.03% of total coronavirus infections. In the last 24 hours, the active Covid-19 caseload has decreased by 199 cases.
According to health ministry data, the death toll has risen to 5,30,528 with eight fatalities, three of which were reconciled by Kerala, and the national recovery rate has now reached 98.78%.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 4,41,22,562, with a case fatality rate of 1.19 percent.
According to the ministry’s website, the country has received 219.79 crore doses of Covid vaccine as part of the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive.
On August 7, 2020, India’s Covid-19 tally surpassed 20 lakh, followed by 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It surpassed 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.
India passed the two-crore mark on May 4, three crores on June 23 last year, and four crores on January 25 this year.
