‘Mo School Abhiyan,’ launched by the Government of Odisha on November 14, 2017, with the noble goal of transforming government and government-aided schools across Odisha, has completed its fifth year of a joyous journey.
The state government’s avant-garde program has reached out to students throughout Odisha.
Today, the institution has evolved into one of the world’s largest alumni connect programs, bolstered by the love and affection of its active alumni and community groups.
The initiative, which began with a small number of schools, now includes a whopping 50,263 schools.
More than 30 lakh alumni have joined the ‘Mo School’ bandwagon to come forward and holistically redevelop their alma mater.
Among those who have joined the initiative are social organizations, eminent personalities, corporate bodies, and private organizations.
Odias all over the world, as well as people involved in the development of education in Odisha, are showing a strong desire to be a part of this revolution.
The scheme has benefited one out of every two students in Odisha’s government and government-aided schools. ‘Mo School’ has expanded its reach to over 45 lakh students today.
Academic programs under the ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ have assisted schoolchildren in developing problem-solving skills, creativity, communication, storytelling, and design thinking, among other skills, in order to absorb and initiate conversations relevant to their career goals.
Schools across the state have been organizing career counseling sessions, talk series, subject teaching, and special coaching sessions for students who excel in sports and other co-curricular activities with the assistance of alumni members.
The active alumni committees are working to improve the school ecosystem and support academic enrichment programs.
The active involvement of alumni groups in schools has resulted in the resolution of school-level issues such as the construction of new classrooms, the renovation of existing infrastructure, the introduction of smart classrooms, libraries, drinking water, and sanitation facilities, and the enhancement of the overall school ambience. In schools, digital learning has taken the lead.
National and international organizations have also played an important role in supplementing the progressive journey of ‘Mo School,’ and these collaborations have resulted in the development of skills of students and teachers in general.
