5G internet services will be launched in Odisha in the first phase, announced Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday at the Odisha Nirman Conclave-22, hosted by Kanak News in Bhubaneswar.
According to Vaishnaw, the equipment needed to launch 5G services has already arrived. The fine-tuning and planning are already underway. The services will be available in Odisha in three months.
Earlier in October, the Minister stated that the first phase of 5G services will be implemented in approximately 200 Indian cities. During this phase, a few major cities in Odisha will be linked to the 5G network by the end of March 2023.
He stated that by the end of 2023, under phase-II, approximately 80% of the state will be covered by high-speed Internet service.
All major cities will be covered in phase one, and the service will then be expanded to semi-urban and rural areas across the country, according to Vaishnaw.
