As his film “RRR” continues to make waves in the Western markets, filmmaker SS Rajamouli has won the best director award at the New York Film Critics Circle. The New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) announced the winners on its social media platforms on Friday night. The official “RRR” Twitter account also announced Rajamouli’s win at the film gala.

Alia Bhatt and Jr NTR congratulate SS Rajamouli
After Rajamouli won the Best Director award at the New York Film Critics Circle, lead actor Jr NTR took to Twitter to congratulate him. NTR wrote, “Congratulations Jakkanna @ssrajamouli. This is just the beginning of your journey to worldwide glory. It’s time for the world to know what I knew about you all along (sic).”
On her Instagram stories, Alia Bhatt also expressed her delight at the news. She also responded to the news on Twitter with a heart emoji. The actress appeared in RRR as a cameo. Sita was her character’s name, and she was paired with Ram Charan.
