The entertainment industry is a truly volatile place. Comedian Kapil Sharma, known for delivering a healthy dose of laughter to television audiences, is preparing to take his film ‘Zwigato’ to one of India’s most prestigious film festivals, the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), for its 27th edition.
The film, which stars Kapil Sharma, has previously been shown at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival. The film has been chosen as the festival’s opening film in the Kaleidoscope section. The screenings will take place on December 10 and 13, 2022.
The film, directed by Nandita Das, stars Kapil Sharma as a food delivery partner who struggles in the world of ratings and algorithms courtesy the digital revolution.
‘Rock On!!’ actress Shahana Goswami ‘ fame plays his wife, a homemaker who begins working to supplement his income. The film tells the story of life’s never-ending struggle, but it also includes their shared moments of joy. The film is set in Bhubaneswar and depicts the lives of invisible ‘ordinary’ people who work tirelessly to keep the societal machinery running smoothly.
The 27th International Film Festival of Kerala will be held in Trivandrum, Kerala, from December 9 to December 16.
