The civic authorities have opened offline ticket counters for the inaugural ceremony of the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup-2023 at eight educational institutions in the Silver City here to promote sports among college students.
The inaugural ceremony for the men’s hockey world cup is set for January 11 at Barabati Stadium in Manila.
Offline ticket counters have been opened in the city here at National Law University, Ravenshaw University, Shailabala Women’s Autonomous College, JKBK College, Christ College, Stewart Science College, Indira Gandhi College, and MS Law University, according to a Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) official today.
“The opening ceremony of the men’s hockey world cup will be held in Cuttack. This is a proud moment for all of us. We are happy that we can buy tickets for the ceremony from our college campus,” said a student of SB Women’s Autonomous College.
The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. on January 11. The opening ceremony will feature performances by Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh and Disha Patani. In addition, K-Pop brand BLACKSWAN will perform live, with Shreya Lenka of Odisha.
Aside from that, many local artists will perform at the event.
It is worth noting that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik recently launched the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup song.
Pritam composed the song, which was sung by eleven Odisha singers including Benny Dayal, Neeti Mohan, Amit Mishra, Lisha Mishra, Antara Mitra, Sreerama Chandra, Nakesh Aziz, Shalmali Kholgade, and Namita Meleka.
Notably, Odisha will host the men’s hockey world cup at Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium and Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela from January 13 to 29.
