History of National Youth Day
Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary is celebrated on January 12 as National Youth Day. Since 1985, Vivekananda’s teachings have been honored and recognized on Swamiji’s birth anniversary, which was designated as National Youth Day by the Indian government in 1984. This year’s theme for National Youth Day 2023 is “Viksit Yuva-Viksit Bharat”.
In India, National Youth Day is celebrated to raise awareness and disseminate information about human rights. The festival’s primary goal is to inspire young people and preserve Swami Vivekananda’s beliefs. Speeches, music, youth conventions, seminars, yoga asanas, presentations, essay writing, recitation competitions, and sporting events are held across the country on National Youth Day (Rashtriya Yuva Diwas).
National Youth Day 2023 will have the theme “Viksit Yuva Viksit Bharat.”
On his birth anniversary, let us look at some of the life lessons that Swami Vivekananda has taught us:
“The more we come out and do good to others, the more our hearts will be purified.”
Serving others, according to Swami Vivekananda, is the path to self-purification. He encouraged people to perform acts of selfless service and to contribute to the betterment of society. He promoted the notion that the more we give to others, the purer our hearts and minds will become.
“Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached.”
He encouraged us to never give up on our hopes and dreams. To succeed, he encouraged people to be tenacious and persistent in their efforts. He was a firm believer that if we are unwavering and persistent, we can achieve anything we set our minds to.
“Be true to yourself, and you will be true to the world. “
Swami Vivekananda believed that being true to oneself is essential for being true to the rest of the world. He urged people to be true to themselves and not compromise their values in order to fit in with others. He believed that by remaining true to oneself, one can have a positive impact on the world.
“Be a hero. Always say, I have no fear.”
He encouraged people to be courageous and not let fear hold them back from achieving their goals. He believed that by facing our fears, we can become true heroes in our own lives.
“The greatest sin is to think yourself weak.”
He believed that the greatest sin a person could commit is to believe they are weak. He believed that we all have the potential to be great and that we should not limit ourselves by believing that we cannot achieve our goals. He encouraged people to believe in themselves and strive for greatness.
