The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted on Sunday that the night temperature in Odisha will drop by 2°C-3°C in the next two days before gradually rising by 2°C-3°C.
On the other hand, temperatures in Odisha have been rising, with G Udayagiri recording the lowest minimum temperature of 7.6°C in the last 24 hours, compared to 7°C on Saturday and 6.8°C on Friday.
The MeT office forecasted above-normal daytime temperatures for the entire state this month in its monthly outlook for February. The likelihood of coastal districts being particularly affected is high. The daytime temperature is expected to be around 35°C for the next five days. For the month of February, the average daily maximum temperature in the capital city is 32.5°C.
This temperature increase is attributed to weak La Nina conditions and a lack of significant rainfall activity. Overall, dry weather is expected to prevail across Odisha’s districts.
