The Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department of Odisha will kick off the three-day Krushi Odisha 2023 on Thursday at the Biju Patnaik Play Ground in Baramunda, Bhubaneswar. The event’s theme this year is “Emerging Technologies in Agriculture.”
The event will be attended by Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, farmers from Odisha and other states of India, and agri scientists from India and abroad.
Krushi Odisha 2023 will primarily highlight and disseminate information on the most recent developments in the fields of production technologies, agriculture mechanisation, ICT application in agriculture, infrastructure development, market linkage, easy access to credit, and the use of improved agricultural inputs.
The event will provide a platform for farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, government institutions, and banking sector institutions to come together and exchange ideas, with a total of 212 stalls from various categories of agriculture and allied sectors.
In addition, ten thematic seminars (Krushak Siksha Sibira) will be held to educate farmers on the most recent agricultural technologies. Humble Millets – Hope for the Future, Sustainable Seed Systems, The New Approaches to Sustainable Agriculture, and other topics will be covered in these seminars.
Progressive farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, and self-help groups from the state’s 30 districts will be honored in the evenings for their achievements in agriculture and allied sectors. Quiz competitions will also be held to add to the excitement of the event. There will also be question-and-answer sessions wherein agri experts and scientists will answer the queries of the farmers.
Krushi Odisha 2023 will be streamed live on YouTube and Facebook, making it available to farmers and other stakeholders.
It is worth noting that the Regional Krushi Mela was held for the first time in four prominent locations across the state, including Sambalpur, Baripada, Berhampur, and Koraput. It attracted a large number of farmers who were eager to learn about new agricultural and allied technologies. Furthermore, a Farm Mechanisation Mela is being held in each of the state’s 30 districts to encourage the use of the most recent farm implements.
