Shuttle master Pramod Bhagat had to settle for silver in the singles SL3 category at the Spanish Para-Badminton International Toledo 2023 after losing to England’s Daniel Bethell in the finals.
The finals lasted 58 minutes, with Pramod Bhagat looking out of sorts in the first set but making a strong comeback in the second. However, his efforts were insufficient to force the match into a third set. The final results were 6-21 and 18-21.
Pramod Bhagat and Manisha Ramdass, who competed in XD – SL 3 – SU 5, lost to France’s Lucas Mazur and Faustine Noel in the mixed doubles semi-finals and had to settle for bronze. The final scores were 17-21 and 13-21, respectively.
In the Men’s Doubles, Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam, who competed in MD – SU 5, were defeated in the Quarterfinals by the Indian pair of Deep Ranjan Bisoyee and Manoj Sarkar. Pramod and Sukant were defeated in three sets, the final scores being 20-22, 21-12, and 20-22.
Sukant Kadam, who competed in SL4, was defeated by France’s Lucas Mazur. The match lasted 30 minutes and ended with scores of 13-21 and 10-21.
