Thunderstorms and lightning are expected in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, and Kalahandi districts, according to the IMD bulletin. These areas have received a yellow warning.
Meanwhile, continuous rain in many parts of the state since Saturday has significantly reduced temperatures, providing relief from heat wave conditions that prevailed previously. Since last night, it has been raining in many parts of Odisha, disrupting normal life.
However, due to western disturbances, the day temperature will remain under control until March 23, according to the IMD. The weather in the state will change starting on March 25. The temperature will rise by 2°C to 4°C, with the weather remaining sunny and dry.
The unexpected rain has provided relief from the heat, but it has also caused concern among farmers. Hailstorms have destroyed brinjal, cucumber, ridge gourd, cabbage, beans, and leafy vegetables in many areas.
At the same time, strong winds and lightning have claimed three lives and destroyed property in the last two days. Many mud houses collapsed due to their inability to withstand the harsh weather.
