Nothing, a consumer technology start-up based in the United Kingdom, released the Ear (2) wireless earbuds. Nothing Ear (2) will be priced anywhere between Rs 8,000 and Rs 10,000. With all the new upgrades and wireless features, The Nothing Ear (2), the successor to the Nothing Ear (1), now supports Hi-Res audio via the LHDC 5.0 codec. Furthermore, the wireless earbuds provide a personalized experience via a customisable sound profile accessed via the Nothing X app. The Nothing Ear (2) will be available for Rs 9,999 on Flipkart, Myntra, and select offline stores on March 28 at 12 noon.
“With Ear (2), we’ve re-engineered everything from the ground up and utilised cutting-edge technology to create the ultimate personal listening experience,” said Carl Pei, CEO and co-founder, Nothing.
Nothing Ear (2): Specifications and features
The Ear (2) is equipped with a custom 11.6mm audio driver in a new dual-chamber design that is said to improve overall sound quality. The wireless earbuds support dual-connection to connect to two supported devices at the same time. Nothing stated that the earbuds would be improved with wind-proof and crowd-proof ‘Clear Voice Technology,’ as well as personalized Active Noise Cancellation.
Personal Sound Profile is one of the new features included in the Ear (2) upgrade.
According to the company, after taking a hearing test in the Nothing X app, the Ear (2) allows users to create a Personal Sound Profile with their hearing ID. This enables the earbuds to adjust the equaliser and sound profile in real-time to match the user’s hearing for the best possible listening experience.
In addition, each earbud has three microphones and an AI noise reduction algorithm for a better voice call experience. The Ear (2) is compatible with active noise cancellation technology. It has adaptive mode, which automatically adjusts the noise reduction level based on the ambient environment reading.
According to Nothing, with the charging case and ANC turned off, the Ear (2) can provide up to 36 hours of music playback. It can last up to 8 hours on a 10-minute charge with fast charge. The Ear (2), like its predecessor, supports wireless charging (up to 2.5W).
The earbuds and charging case are water and dust resistant, with IP54 and IP55 ratings. On Android devices, the Ear (2) supports Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair on Windows devices.
