The Great Indian Rescue, starring Parineeti Chopra and Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, has a blocked release date. The film will premiere on October 5, 2023, in theaters. The movie is based on a true story about the late Jaswant Singh Gill, who oversaw the country’s first-ever rescue operation in a coal mine.
Gill was born on November 22, 1939, in Sathiala, Amritsar. In 1989, while still a student at Khalsa College and stationed in Raniganj, he designed a unique rescue capsule that allowed him to save the lives of numerous workers who were stranded within a flooded coal mine.
In 1991, President Ramaswamy Venkataraman presented him with the “Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak” in recognition of his valiant deed.
The film “The Great Indian Rescue,” formerly known as “Capsule Gill,” is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, and Ajay Kapoor. Tinu Suresh Desai is the director.
