Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s high-profile visit, US President Joe Biden described the New Delhi-Washington partnership as one of the “most consequential” in the world on Sunday.
In a tweet from his official handle, he said: “The friendship between the United States and India is among the most consequential in the world. And it’s stronger, closer, and more dynamic than ever.”
In his tweet, Biden also shared a video capturing the glimpse of Modi’s visit.
Prime Minister Modi was in the United States for a four-day visit (June 21-24), during which he attended the International Yoga Day event at the United Nations headquarters, met with thought leaders and business executives, and addressed a joint session of Congress.
President Biden also treated Modi to a private dinner and later a state supper, as well as a luncheon given by Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
This was Modi’s tenth journey to the United States, but it was his first state visit, complete with a greeting 21-gun salute and a state supper.
