Adipurush’s destiny was determined earlier this week when it saw a massive drop in collections on its first Monday, and the Prabhas starrer has already nearly finished its run by its second weekend. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Om Raut-directed film earned just Rs 6 crore on its second Sunday.
Adipurush, the big screen Ramayana adaption, had an excellent first weekend of Rs 113 cr in Hindi alone, but the picture saw a precipitous drop, earning only Rs 14 cr in its second weekend, all India nett.
On its second Sunday, the film earned Rs 6 crore across all languages, with Hindi collections estimated to be about Rs 3.25 crore, with 16.34 percent occupancy in Hindi. The film’s all India nett now stand at Rs 274.55 CR, with its lifetime Hindi collections expected to finish in the range of Rs 135-140 cr.
The collections have come in after the makers changed its controversial dialogues, written by Manoj Muntashir, and lowered the ticket costs to Rs 150, and then announced another decrease, with seats available for Rs 112. The offer was made on Sunday, but it may have done little to help the picture, which has been dogged by criticism since its debut.
After Radhe Shyam and Saaho, this is Prabhas’ third consecutive disaster, as the actor has failed to replicate the box office success of his landmark smash Baahubali.
