The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar has struck an agreement with Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) in Cuttack for academic, research, and comprehensive rehabilitation treatment.
On Wednesday, AIIMS Bhubaneswar executive director Ashutosh Biswas and SVNIRTAR Director P.P. Mohanty signed an agreement to collaborate on numerous elements of holistic rehabilitation care.
Biswas stated that the two prestigious national institutes will collaborate on patient referrals (such as Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Burn and Plastic Surgery, Pediatrics, Medicine) and SVNIRTAR departments (such as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Orthopedics, and so on) to improve healthcare and research in specialized areas.

As India’s largest locomotor rehabilitation center, SVNIRTAR offers a comprehensive range of rehabilitative services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, prosthetics and orthotics, and so on.
According to Mohanty, the agreement will provide exposure to acute care at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, allowing the rehabilitation center to be developed and launched at an early stage.
