Prabhas’ Salaar was announced in 2020, when the world was a different place due to the epidemic. It has taken more than two years for the creators to finally provide a glimpse into the universe they have been working on for so long. The film’s director, Prashanth Neel of KGF fame, has remained tight-lipped about it, but with the release of the teaser, the cat is finally out of the bag.
While most directors release teasers at midnight, the Salaar team selected an unusual time. On July 6, at 5:12 a.m., the teaser was released. The reason stated was that Rocky bhai’s (Yash’s) boat drowned at the same moment, also hinting at a shared universe between the two films.

Salaar reminds of the KGF world. It features the same heroism as the Kannada blockbuster. Tinnu Anand is shown in the teaser surrounded by men wielding machine weapons. However, the experienced actor is unconcerned. ‘In simple English,’ he continues, a lion, a tiger, or an elephant are all dangerous. The talk is intercut with Prabhas sequences. Tinnu continues, “But those animals aren’t as dangerous in Jurassic Park because the apex predator is, well, a dinosaur.” The teaser also features Prithviraj as the threatening villain. Another significant hint from the trailer is the existence of a sequel to Salaar, since the future film is titled Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire.
Malayalam star Prithviraj makes his Telugu debut with Salaar. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapati Babu, Eshwari Rao, and Sriya Reddy. The film was produced by Hombale Films, which also funded the two portions of KGF and Kantara. For the film, KGF composer Ravi Basrur has collaborated once more with Prashanth Neel.
Salaar will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi on September 28.
Prabhas will return to the big screen after Salaar with another large-budget film, Project K. Despite the fact that the Baahubali series catapulted him to prominence, Prabhas has yet to produce a blockbuster hit since SS Rajamouli’s films. The massively budgeted films Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush garnered lackluster reviews from reviewers and audiences. Adipurush has received a lot of vitriol, and now all eyes are on Salaar.
