Secretary to the Chief Minister (5T) VK Pandian visited Deogarh district on the order of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to examine the progress of different developmental activities in the district and to address multiple public issues.
Pandian visited the Pradhanpat waterfall and spoke with locals to discuss the development of eco-tourism and tourist amenities in Pradhanpat.
He also spoke with college students, informing them that the Chief Minister has approved the transformation of 19 Plus II colleges and nine degree institutions in the district as part of the 5T project, at a cost of Rs 10.25 crore.
Later, he visited a public grievance meeting at Bada Bagicha ground, where he heard individual and communal problems and promised to address them as soon as possible.
Pandian also assessed the development of the new 300-bed District HQ Hospital project, which is expected to cost Rs 115 crore, and urged the relevant authorities to complete it by October.
R Vineel Krishna, Special Secretary to the CM, Suresh Dalai, RDC, Brijesh Rai, DIG, Deogarh Collector and DM Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, Deogarh SP Pramod Rath, and other district level officials accompanied Pandian on his visit.
Meanwhile, Pandian returned to the Sambalpur district for a second day on Sunday. He went over numerous development projects and talked about public grievance redressal.
Pandian prayed at Maa Samaleswari Temple and evaluated the project’s progress. He commanded that the project be completed by December. Later, he went to the Huma Temple in Maneswar block and interacted with the temple committee, priests, and the public on the development of the pilgrim facilities. He also visited the Jagannath and Panch Khanda Temples in Rairakhol NAC. The 5T Secretary directed the district administration to prepare plans for the development of the facilities.
Pandian then went to the Santkabi Bhima Bhoi Prapti Pitha in Madhupur’s Rairakhol block to connect with Mahima Dharma devotees and discuss the construction of amenities there. He also paid a visit to Kandhara’s Santkabi Bhima Bhoi Smruti Pitha and addressed the development of pilgrim facilities.
The 5T Secretary also met with the weavers’ community and listened to their complaints. He asked the district administration to prioritize all pending applications.
He inspected the Water Treatment Plant at the Kadaligad Mega PWS site. With an estimated cost of Rs 108 crore, this project intends to offer clean and safe drinking water to 115 villages while also solving water supply and treatment challenges.
He attended a public grievance redressal meeting in Rairakhol, NAC, where he listened from the public and promised prompt action.
Pandian also met with students and staff at the 5T High School in Daincha’s Naktideul block. He praised the advancement of amenities such as smart classrooms, an e-library, science labs, and so on. He urged the children to study hard and to set lofty goals for themselves.
5T Secretary engaged with Mission Shakti Federation members, staff, and groups, listening to their problems and encouraging them to continue their work for women’s empowerment.
