Rajshri Productions, which has created classic love stories such as Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun, is set to present another romance tale to the audience with their next film Dono. The teaser for the film was published. Rajveer Deol, son of actor Sunny Deol and Pooja Deol, and Paloma Dhillon, daughter of acclaimed actress Poonam Dhillon and producer Ashok Thakeria, make their film debuts. Avnish Barjatya, the son of filmmaker and producer Sooraj Barjatya, makes his directorial debut with Dono. He previously worked as an assistant director on several of his father’s films, including Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Uunchai.
The teaser opens with Rajveer and Paloma sitting at a picturesque beach setting, engaged in a heartwarming conversation. Paloma’s character asks, “Hum itana rejection se darte kyu hai? (Why do we fear rejection?)” To this, Rajveer’s character replies, “Itana bhi bura kya hai humme? (Are we this bad?)” The teaser then takes the audience on a beautiful journey as it showcases the film’s lead couple attending a destination wedding of their friends. While taking part in various wedding festivities, Rajveer and Paloma’s characters discover love for each other. The video’s tagline reads, “Two strangers, one destination.”
Dono teaser
The teaser for Dono was unveiled by the film’s creators. The romantic film appears to take place on an island during a destination wedding. The groom’s friend, the girl Meghna (Paloma), meets the bride’s friend, the lad Dev (Rajvir). At the start of the teaser, they’re discussing rejections. They then bond during the destination wedding’s various rites, including the haldi ceremony (dressed in yellow) and the pheras.
Directorial debut of Avnish S Barjartya
Avnish S. Barjatya, the younger son of acclaimed filmmaker Sooraj R. Barjatya, makes his directorial debut with Dono. Avnish was an assistant director on Sooraj’s previous two films, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Uunchai. The teaser ends with a nod to Sooraj’s 1994 blockbuster Hum Aapke Hain Koun, in which the groom’s brother Prem (Salman Khan) falls for the bride’s sister Nisha (Madhuri Dixit) at the big huge Indian wedding.
About Dono
Dono is produced by Rajshri Productions and Jio Studios, both of which are owned by the Barjatyas. Sooraj serves as the film’s Creative Producer. Shankar-Ehsan-Loy composed the music, and Irshad Kamil wrote the lyrics. The teaser contains a sample of the title track. While Avnish wrote the story, he and Manu Sharma co-wrote the screenplay.
