Rajinikanth has once again demonstrated that finding a qualified replacement who can emulate his box-office domination is difficult. Even on weekdays, his recent film, Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, continues to perform consistently and well in theaters.
According to early estimates released by industry tracker Sacnilk, Jailer earned Rs 10 crore in India on Thursday, the eighth day of its release. This essentially increased the actioner’s domestic first-week earnings to an astonishing Rs 235.65 crore.
The Tamil version of Jailer has so far earned Rs 186.05 crore, the Telugu version Rs 46.99 crore, and both the Kannada and Hindi adaptations Rs 1.9 crore.

As per trade analyst, Manobala VIjayabalan, the gross worldwide collections of the film currently stand at Rs 470.17 crore.

According to Sacnilk, the Rajinikanth film is likely to earn roughly Rs 12.79 crore in domestic nett profits on Friday.
On Thursday, the Tamil actioner had a total Tamil occupancy of 32.70%. Initially, the film had a 19.37 percent occupancy in the Tamil market during morning shows. However, as the day progressed, the percentages rose steadily, hitting 28.50% during the afternoon showings, 40.37% during the evening performances, and peaked at 42.54 percent during the night screenings.
Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, which is now ruling the box office in the northern regions, is the single substantial contender that can match Jailer’s amazing box office win.
