The School and Mass Education Department of the Government of Odisha issued a comprehensive order for the appointment of 20,000 junior teachers (Schematic) through an online computer-based test (CBT).
The amended order, which was announced on Tuesday, indicates that all primary education obligations will be gradually transferred to Zilla Parishad and other Panchayati Raj organizations.
According to the directive, “Engagement of all Junior Teachers (Schematic) will be made by the respective Zilla Parishads under each category, i.e. for Classes I to V and Classes VI to VIII under the programme of Samagra Sikshya (SS) for implementation of the said Act for elementary education.”
According to the 2014 amendments to the Odisha Elementary Education (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Teachers and Officers) Amendment Rules, elementary teachers in the state are appointed through absorption of junior teachers after three years of continuous and satisfactory service, which is considered by a district-level committee. A Junior Teacher (Schematic) is entitled to bear the title of Junior Teacher after three years of continuous and satisfactory employment. It went on to say that their six-year commitment would last until they were incorporated into the regular elementary cadre under the Samagra Sikshya scheme.
Candidates must submit their applications via the online channel in accordance with the instructions provided in the advertisement in order to be eligible for the computer-based online test for the position of Junior Teacher (Schematic).
To be eligible for the position, an applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 38 on the date the advertisement is published.
