In the early hours of Tuesday, the Indian space agency announced that it had successfully maneuvered its space-based solar observatory Aditya-L1 to a new orbit.
The second earthbound manoeuvre was done around 2.45 a.m. on Tuesday from the Indian Space Research Organisation’s tracking center in Bengaluru, according to ISRO.
The new orbit is 282 km x 40,225 km in size.
During this operation, ISRO stated its ground stations in Mauritius, Bengaluru, and Port Blair tracked the satellite.
The next maneuver is expected for September 10, 2023, at roughly 02:30 hours, IST, according to ISRO.
On Saturday, the Aditya-L1 spacecraft was launched into low-Earth orbit (LEO).
On September 3, 2023, the first earth-bound maneuver was accomplished, and Aditya-L1 was transferred to a new orbit of 245km x 22,459 km.
