The state’s dengue status is stable, with no increase in the number of cases, according to Public Health Director Dr. Niranjan Mishra.
According to Dr. Mishra, while 80-100 dengue cases are recorded everyday in Bhubaneswar, a total of 200 cases are reported across the state.
The Public Health Director shared information on the mosquito-borne viral disease, stating that on September 10, 68,620 samples were tested across the state, with 5,097 of these testing positive for dengue.
The biggest number of cases, 2,133, had been discovered in the Khordha district, he noted.
Dengue fever is a viral ailment caused by the dengue virus (DENV), which is transferred to humans by the bite of infected mosquitoes. The virus is spread to humans by the bites of infected female mosquitoes, primarily the Aedes aegypti mosquito, Dr Mishra explained.
