Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik offered financial support for the state’s athletes who will compete in the upcoming Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games in China on Wednesday.
Each athlete selected for the Asian Games would earn Rs 10 lakh to help with training, preparation, and participation in the famous athletic event.
The Asian Games, noted for bringing together great athletes from around the continent, provides a forum for competitors to demonstrate their dedication and talent.
Kishore Jena, Anshika Bharati, Ritu Kaudi, and Sonali Swain in rowing; Anupama Swain in ju-jitsu; Neha Devi Leichondam in kayaking and canoeing; Pyari Xaxa in football; Deep Grace Ekka and Amit Rohidas in hockey; and Dumuni Marndi, Tarulata Naik, Mama Naik, and Hupi Majhi in rugby.
The Chief Minister wished them luck and expressed optimism that the athletes would demonstrate their skills in the Games and that this incentive would allow them to focus exclusively on their training and performance.
