As per the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha, V K Pandian visited Koraput District to examine the progress of different developmental activities in the district and interact with students and the general public.
He took part in the Nua-O Program, which was held at the Government College Ground in Koraput, and met with students from all Koraput colleges. He inspired the pupils to work hard and succeed in their chosen fields. In addition to their academic successes, he encouraged they engage in the Nua-O program to display their talent and general personality development.
Pandian reviewed the progress of the Development of Gupteswar Temple, Boipariguda at a cost of Rs. 20.20 Cr.
Pandian also reviewed the progress of the following major projects: Jhanjabati River Barrage Project (Rs 100 Cr); Construction of 650 Bedded New Hospital Building and Construction of Cancer Wing at Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital, Koraput (Rs 266 Cr); and Construction of New 300 Bedded Hospital at DHH, Jeypore (Rs 100 Cr).
He also evaluated the status of other major road projects worth Rs 172.40 crore and major bridge projects worth Rs 210 crore being implemented in the district.
Some of the projects were initiated following Pandian’s prior visit to the Koraput district, during which he attended grievance meetings and solicited comments from the people.
Later, at Dussehra Padia Jeypore, he mingled with the common public, listening to their complaints about various concerns and promising an early response.
