As scheduled, Motorola today unveiled the Moto G34 5G smartphone in India. The main conclusion is that, with what is likely the nation’s first “truly affordable 5G” phone, Motorola appears to be outperforming Redmis and Realmes at their own game with almost any noticeable compromise. Everything seems and feels like it might have cost more, including the design, display, processor selection, cameras, and even the software. But it doesn’t.
Moto G34 5G India price, availability
The Moto G34 5G is available for Rs 10,999 and Rs 11,999, respectively, and offers 4GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB of capacity. The Moto G34 5G can be bought for Rs 9,999 or Rs 10,999 if you choose to exchange it, as Motorola claims to be offering an extra Rs 1,000 off. On January 17, general availability is anticipated on the company’s website, Flipkart, and in physical stores.
Moto G34 5G a first look at design, features, and specs
More than anything, Motorola is promoting the phone’s design. Despite being a low-cost phone, the Moto G34 has a rather luxurious feel to it, offering customers the choice of 3D acrylic glass (PMMA) or soft “vegan leather.” It also weighs little—figuratively and practically, coming in at just under 180g measuring only 7.98mm. The chassis has a water-repellent rating of IP52.
A 6.5-inch LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 720p resolution may be found on the front. The display is covered by panda glass and has a peak brightness of 580 nits when in high brightness mode (HBM). Its center has a punch-out hole that holds a 16-megapixel f/2.4 selfie camera. The Moto G34 5G features two cameras on its back: a 2-megapixel macro and a 50-megapixel f/1.8 wide angle.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 from Qualcomm, which has up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS2.2 storage that can be expanded to 1TB with a microSD card. Android 14 software is in charge. Up to three years of security updates and a “assured upgrade to Android 15” are being promised by Motorola.
A 5,000mAh battery with 20W rapid charging powers the Moto G34 5G. It supports 13 5G bands out of the box and boasts dual speakers with Dolby Atmos playback.
