Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The key stock indices concluded the day higher than where they started. The BSE Sensex shed 689.76 points, or 0.98%, to close at 71,060.31, while the NSE Nifty 50 closed 215.15 points, or 1.01% lower, at 21,453.95. The majority of the gains were seen in midcap equities as the larger indices closed higher. The Bank Nifty index finished at 45,082.40, up 67.35 points, or 0.15%.
Hindalco, Dr Reddy’s Lab, Tata Steel, Power Grid, and HCL Tech were the top gainers in the Nifty 50. While ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Asian Paints, Adani Ports, and HDFC Life Insurance were the primary losers.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the value of the dollar against a basket of six foreign currencies, traded lower by 0.12% at 103.49.
