Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The key stock indices concluded the day higher than they started. The BSE Sensex gained 350 points, or 0.48%, to close at 73,057.40, while the NSE Nifty 50 closed 74.70 points, or 0.34% higher, at 22,196.95. Large- and mid-cap equities had the biggest gains as the wider indices closed higher. The Bank Nifty index finished at 47,094.20, up 558.70 points, or 1.20%.
Power Grid Corp, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, NTPC, and SBI Life Insurance were the top gainers in the Nifty 50. On the flip side, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, TCS, Coal India, and Eicher Motor were the key laggards in the Nifty 50 on February 20 during later hours.
On Tuesday morning, shares in the Asia-Pacific region exhibit mixed trading. The Asia Dow shows an increase of 1.39%, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 is in positive territory with a gain of 0.07%. However, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index concluded with a 1.13% decrease, and the benchmark Chinese index, Shanghai Composite, closed higher by 1.56%.
On Tuesday morning, WTI crude prices are currently trading at $78.12, reflecting a decrease of 0.72%. Simultaneously, Brent crude prices are at $83.25, experiencing a decline of 0.37%.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), gauging the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, registered a marginal increase of 0.03%, reaching 104.32.
Stocks and U.S. equity futures remained stable in subdued trading, with investors eagerly anticipating new catalysts following a week where the S&P 500 achieved fresh records and European equities came close to that milestone, as reported by Bloomberg. The Nasdaq Composite, heavily influenced by technology stocks, concluded with a decrease of 123.56 points or 0.78%, settling at 15,782.61. The S&P 500 experienced a slight dip of 23.58 points or 0.47%, closing at 5,006.15, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished down by 156.04 points or 0.40% at 38,617.08.
