Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices ended Monday’s trading session in the negative territory. The BSE Sensex fell 352.66 points, or 0.48%, to 72,790.14, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 90.65 points, or 0.44%, to end at 22,122.05. The large- and mid-cap stocks led the declines in the overall indices, which concluded in negative territory. The Bank Nifty index finished at 46,576.50, down 235.25 points, or 0.50%. Among the sectors indices, Energy and Auto stocks did better than IT and Metal stocks.
In Monday morning trading, shares across the Asia-Pacific region are displaying a mixed trend. The Asia Dow is experiencing a 0.25% increase, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 is in positive territory, showing a gain of 0.39%. However, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is down by 0.10%, and China’s benchmark index, the Shanghai Composite, has concluded with a 0.55% increase.
As of Monday morning, WTI crude prices stand at $76.32, reflecting a 0.22% decrease, while Brent crude prices are at $81.48, experiencing a 0.17% decline.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), gauging the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, registered a slight uptick of 0.03% to reach 103.97.
On Friday, the U.S. stock market experienced a slowdown, witnessing a decline in the world’s largest technology companies following a robust surge fueled by optimism around artificial intelligence, as reported by Bloomberg. The Nasdaq Composite, dominated by tech stocks, concluded the day with a loss of 37.65 points or 0.23%, settling at 16,003.97. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 showed a modest gain of 6.80 points or 0.23%, reaching 5,093.83, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed higher by 120.72 points or 0.31% at 39,189.83.
