President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to address the 53rd convocation ceremony of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar on Thursday evening. The convocation event will be presided over by Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, while Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, the state’s minister of higher education, will be the honored guest.
President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive at Utkal University at 5:30 p.m. and speak at the convocation event at 6:15 p.m., according to Vice-Chancellor Sabita Acharya. She is scheduled to depart the campus grounds at 6:35 p.m.
As many as 166 Utkal University scholars will get their PhD degrees during the convocation event today, according to university authorities, who also announced that three distinguished individuals would be awarded honorary PhD/D. Litt degrees.
Utkal University has made special arrangements for the President’s visit. A special corridor has been laid to welcome the President, while a large LED panel has been installed in the university’s auditorium for live streaming of the convocation ceremony.
