Apple today unveiled the MacBook Air powered by the company’s in-house developed M3 chip. Apple says that its most lightweight laptops are “up to 60% faster” and can run for up to 18 hours on a single charge when compared to the M1 MacBook Air.
It has a “Liquid Retina” display, which has a brightness range of 500 nits. The M3 processor has a 16-core Neural Engine that, according to the company, can run optimized AI models capable of translation, text prediction, and real-time speech-to-text.
Up to 24GB of unified memory can be supported by the M3 chip, which also has an 8-core processor and a 10-core integrated GPU with mesh shading and ray tracing.
The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models have three microphones and a 1080p camera. They are both “less than half an inch thick” and enable Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio. These laptops enable MagSafe charging and feature a silent fanless design.
When the laptop lid is closed, Apple claims that the latest models support two external monitors. In terms of connection, it comes with four colors: midnight, starlight, space gray, and silver. It also includes two Thunderbolt ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
